The Heart Behind Hospitality for Business Meetings in McKinney

By Deeann

As my youngest was getting ready to leave the nest, I found myself asking a familiar question: What’s next? Years ago I stepped away from a career in speech pathology to be a full-time mom. That decision was clear. This next season felt less defined—until I realized the thread that had been running through my life all along: hospitality.

That decision now shapes every business meeting, corporate event and more in McKinney that we host at The Table.

For more than twenty years, my days were filled with feeding people, opening our home, and listening to stories—adventures and heartbreaks, homework frustrations, friendship ups and downs, dreams and plans. I loved every bit of it.

Later, I began catering lunches for Curtis’s clients. That’s when something clicked: you don’t have to be at home to practice hospitality. Food—and a warm welcome—bring people together anywhere. A bowl of soup after surgery, a plate of cookies baked with friends, a grandmother’s table at the holidays…food pulls up a chair for our favorite memories and the stories we love to tell.

That’s the heartbeat of what I do at The Table. My role is simple: make sure every person who walks through our doors feels special, seen, and cared for. Whether you’re here for a strategy session, a client meeting, training, or just a few productive hours between appointments, I want you to leave feeling different than when you arrived.

Sometimes that looks like fresh coffee and warm cookies. Sometimes it’s remembering a name, setting a room the way your team prefers, or checking in after your session. Always, it’s about creating a space where people know they matter.

Hospitality isn’t just food, flowers, or a pretty room (though we love those). Hospitality is connection. It’s the pause that lets people breathe, focus, and do their best work. It’s the quiet confidence of walking into a place that already feels prepared for you.

Teams book us for client meetings, training sessions and corporate offsite meetings because a warm welcome helps people do their best work.

So if you’re new here, welcome. Pull up a barstool. Tell me about your day. And if you’re a regular, thank you for letting us be part of your meetings, milestones, and Monday mornings. It’s an honor to host the work you do.
